The Treehouse: Off-grid Retreat

Shaded in a canopy of macrocarpa trees at the base of Mt Taranaki national park, The Treehouse is a grown-up childhood sanctuary. Built from recycled materials, a repurposed spiral staircase takes you up the multiple levels of The Treehouse to a secluded living space nestled between the trees. Kick back in the canopy, swoop on the swings or shoot down the slide. This self-contained treehouse is powered by renewable energy and is only a short drive to New Plymouth, local beaches and the mountain.

Surrounded by Taranaki dairy farms, overlooked by the magnificent Mt Taranaki. 45 minute drive from New Plymouth unless you stop in trendy Oakura or have a coffee in the quaint Okato. Ten-minute drive to the vibrant, seaside town of Opunake with its local cafes, Boutique movie Theatre, swimming and fishing beaches. Take a 5-minute drive to Manihi beach, walk on the sandy, wild west coast and enjoy the peace and solitude.

Breakeracre Apartment

A semi-detached 2 bedroom apartment overlooking park like surroundings & view of Oakura Beach & the Tasman Sea. A very short walk will have the sand between your toes and/or a dip in the sea. Entry into the apartment is via your own front door with an outside lock-box holding the key. The apartment has 2 good size bedrooms, both with wardrobes for storage. Bath robes are supplied for up to 4 guests. In the well appointed lounge/dining room area you will also find a TV, CD player & FM radio.

Warm and inviting at 33 on Upper Pungarehu

33 on Upper Pungarehu is located just off of Taranaki's Surf Highway 45 & is centrally located to local surf breaks, fishing spots & cultural sites. Parihaka Marae & settlement is just up the road. The closest town of Rahotu lies 5min drive south, continue south along Surf Highway 45 to popular Opunake Beach. Travelling north Okato is a 10min hop, Oakura a 20min skip & the big smoke New Plymouth a 30min jump. Maunga Taranaki National Park is a 60min scenic drive around the mountain.

Recently renovated 2 bedroom house with deck elevated out above the sand dunes. Unobstructed 180 degree views from ocean, across farmland to Mount Taranaki. Extremely private with coastal remote feel but only 5min from Opunake's cafes, pubs and "NZ's best" award winning Fish & Chip shop.

Oakura Studio

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. The studio is separate, fully fenced, lovely and private. It includes a relaxing little Zen garden area. The TV includes Netflix. The kitchenette has a microwave, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine, coffee pods, kettle & fridge. The stunning Oakura surf beach and Black Sand Pizzeria is just a 15 minute walk away, the cute little Oakura village, cafes and restaurants, a 12 minute walk away, and the Kaitake Ranges a 15 minute walk.

Graveyards, Rocky Point and Puniho’s on your doorstep. Mt Taranaki stretches to the horizon behind you. Whether you surf, fish or just want to relax with a book while listening to the sound of waves, you’ll be able to relax as you choose. Children love to explore the rocks, and pools during low tide. Our private enclave of 9 houses is nestled at the end of a private drive and is home to a mix of permanent residents and baches surrounded by farm land. We live onsite.

The Gingerbread House

Your space is located inside my Gingerbread House which is also home to "The Chocolate Lady". Sleep inside the Sweetest Bedroom Ever imagined or step into an Enchanted Forest Bedroom... The entrance is also the dining/lounge/library. The kitchenette has a jug, toaster, microwave, multicooker and electric frying pan. The bathroom and toilet are separate. The entrance is currently unfinished and this is reflected in the charge out rate!

The Black Yurt

MAX OCCUPANCY 2 Adults & 2 Children under 12 The Black Yurt is situated within Oakura. The surf beach, a number of cafes/restaurants, a pharmacy and a convenience store are within walking distance. Several hiking trails can be found nearby. Accessible via a private staircase, this yurt offers you a comfortable king-size bed, lounge area and kitchenette. The bath and shower are outdoors. A separate small building contains the toilet.
