The Surf Chalet at York Beach

The Surf Chalet is a one of a kind vacation experience on the coast of Maine. Ideally located between Long Sands, Short Sands and the Nubble Lighthouse. Only a 0.2 mile walk to Long Sands Beach, 0.4 mile walk to Short Sands/shopping. The Surf Chalet sleeps 6. King sized bed, 2 Twin beds and twin/full bunk beds. 1.5 bath with an open living/dining area. The Surf Chalet offers many conveniences: fire pit, patio, grill, large front yard, children's toys, beach chairs and yard/beach/board games.

Winner of Maine Homes Small Space Design Award 2023 We are located on the private 80-acre Shapleigh Pond in the Southern Maine, an hour from Portland and two hours from Boston. Experience a bygone era in this restored Schoolhouse circa 1866 with many original details such as oversized glass-paned windows, wood plank floors, chalkboards, tin ceiling and more. Modern amenities such as fireplace, private hot tub, fire pit, gas BBQ and access to our pool (June-Sept), pond and tennis court.

Enjoy nearby activities like hiking, leaf peeping, skiing, and visiting scenic towns, local vineyards and breweries — or simply relaxing in a beautiful lakefront setting!

Enjoy endless R&R between the beaches at Nine RR Avenue. Newly renovated 2 bed cottage between short & long sands beaches is a quick walk to either beach. Enjoy the convenience of walking to the hot spots to indulge in saltwater taffy, local breweries & restaurants or enjoy live music. Relax on the outdoor patio, enjoy the fire pit & grill. Rinse the day's sand off in the outdoor shower. Sleeps 6 (king, queen) with pullout sofa.
