The Pines Treehouse @ Treetops Hideouts

The Pines Treehouse is nestled underneath a huge oak tree sitting high above the running water of Sand Beck. Nature cocoons you and you can reach out and touch the trees, see wildlife all around you amongst the pines. With breathtaking views through the tress and across the valley you are completely private having no other accommodation on the site making this a truly unique and special experience. A great effort has gone into creating this space to allow you to simply relax and reset in nature.

The Hut in the Wild

Come and stay in our beautifully finished, tin shepherds hut at the bottom of our garden. We are located in the rolling countryside with extensive views over the vale of York. After a day of exploring this AONB, there’s nothing like cooking tea over the fire pit or wood pellet pizza oven followed by a dip under the stars in our rustic hot tub. Fall into a fresh clean bed and wake up to the sound of the dawn chorus. Our bathroom barn provides all your needs for a morning freshen up!See you soon.

The Owlery at Mill Farm

Recently converted, the Owlery is the perfect self-catered rural escape for couples. With its double height vaulted ceiling and full height double aspect windows the open plan kitchen living diner offers a light and airy space to unwind and enjoy the view of surrounding fields. The bedroom has a Kingsize bed, Egyptian cotton sheets and En-Suite shower room. The Bathroom offers complimentary Bramley products and cotton bathrobes. Both areas are underfloor heated. There is a private garden.

Grooms Cottage by Sheriff Hutton Castle Near York

Grooms Cottage is on a private estate right next to the ruins of Sheriff Hutton Castle. The property is in a peaceful setting but only two minutes walk away from the village pub and post office/general store. Our cottage was completely renovated in 2021 and is in a great location for walkers, cyclists, and explorers. It’s about 10 miles from both York and Malton, Castle Howard is under 6 miles away, and the coast can be reached in under an hour. Grooms Cottage sleeps 4 guests+2 babies +dogs

Your shepherd's hut is set in the enclosed, inner courtyard of the C14th castle ruins, your own private space. Atmospheric and perfect for relaxing, enjoying a quiet drink in the evening in front of the fire pit & gazing at a starry sky or the impressive ruins. We have 3 other stays, for couples, around the castle available if you would like to visit with friends. No WiFi.

A perfect base for biking , walking or visiting Castle Howard, the North Yorkshire moors , East coast or York.

Peacefully situated on a hillside sheep farm with great views just 15 mins from York Park & Ride, 25 mins from York centre & 5 mins to Castle Howard in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Modern and well appointed with large gardens, comfy sofa’s, chairs & table for up to 6, fitted & equipped kitchen, comfy bedrooms, one on each floor, both en suite. A sofa bed is also available (fee applies).

You also can enjoy our beautiful garden, lily pond and friendly cat, Nina. Your hosts are always on hand to ensure a comfortable and nourishing experience.

Stunning rural shepherds hut

Located in the stunning Howardian Hills, this is a peaceful and romantic location. A perfect all year round escape. You park your car and the hut is a 5 minute walk from our house- make sure you pack suitable footwear. We can transport your luggage to the hut. The hut has cooking facilities (oven and a hob), there is also a fire pit for barbecues and a picnic table for outdoor dining. You have exclusive use of a hot tub which is right next to the hut.

Tarrs Yard is a beautifully restored early 18th century cottage, nestled in the valley between York and Malton. The village has strong connections with Richard III, and is ideally situated to explore medieval York, Castle Howard, the North York Moors or the Yorkshire coast. There is a shop/Post Office, and walking routes right outside the door. The village pub, The Highwayman, serves good pub grub.
