The 65-mile network of carriage roads in Minnewaska State Park Preserve and the Mohonk Preserve is accessible just a few hundred yards from a historic modernized house. You can explore swimming holes and lakes, many miles of more rugged trails, and the popular climbing area (Gunks) of Peter’s Kill, just a 5-minute walk away.

Then cook a meal in our well-equipped kitchen or on the grill, and enjoy it on the patio overlooking the property.

Historic 200 yr old stone cottage, on three floors, renovated to a high standard, creating a very comfortable and peaceful retreat, whilst retaining soul and character. Extreme cleanliness is a priority. Quality bedding assures a good nights sleep. The bathroom offers a rain shower and soaking tub. The kitchen is fully equipped and fresh produce is available from the neighboring organic farm in season. Good hiking trails are accessible from the house.

The Treecastle at the Roundhouse Homestead

The Treecastle started as a vision when I was a child, but came to life during the quarantine of 2020. Escaping into the woods and surrounded by nature, the treecastle is supported on one end completely by a mature pin oak with hardware from Treehouse Masters TV show.
