Uber is your best friend while in Mexico!
If no Ubers are available, make sure the taxis have license plates that start with NUMBERS and NOT letters! This designates them as taxis by Mexican Law.
Make sure to always carry extra Pesos (10-20MXN) as tips for your drivers!

The water in Mexico is not filtered and can cause severe sickness. Make sure to avoid ice in any and all drinks, and stock up on filtered bottled water for your stay!

Make sure to always carry around 500MXN per person with you at all times in small bills. Most places do not offer change, and if you pay with credit cards you risk getting information stolen or a higher price due to the taxes!

Beware Montezumas Revenge!
All foreigners will experience some level of 'adjustment sickness' despite their best efforts. Think of it as your immune system leveling up! In order to make sure your stay Is as enjoyable as possible, I recommend packing anti-nausea medicine and picking up some Buscapina at the local pharmacy. Drink PLENTY of water, make sure you squeeze in a siesta or two, and start slow with the food! Straight tequila is your best friend(; You'll feel like a local in no time!
