Don’t judge this book by its cover, it almost doesn’t even look like a restaurant. even when you walk up to it you might even think it’s closed. Walk in. It’s like an oasis. It’s new to us but it’s been in St. Louis since 1898. It is very old school meets new energy. It was recently taken over by the grandson in which he completely remodeled it in mid 2020 and put a breath of fresh air into it. It is literally one block south. I had one of the best omelettes I’ve ever had and it was only cheese, fresh basil and tomatoes. They only serve breakfast on Saturday. They are mostly an evening restaurant and bar plus have live music on Saturday afternoon.

Schlafly beer is The first craft brewery in St. Louis, if you don’t count Budweiser 😉 It is only a couple of blocks east on this street. It is a brewery bar and restaurant. They have their craft beers and pub fare. If you see a man walking around in a Kilt, that’s our friend Stephen. He works there. He is the ‘face of Schlafly’ and loves meeting new people.
