Your private bedroom is located in a old beautiful and cozy apartment in the center of Zurich on one of the most famous streets in Switzerland: Langstrasse. You are just minutes from central station and just a few meters from the city's nightlife in the midst of clubs, bars, restaurants, shops and also relaxing green areas. Zürich international airport can be reached in half an hour with public transport. There is often the opportunity to check in earlier or later. Just send me an inquiry.
A compliment which I always hear from guests, that the accommodation is very well located. It is located just a few minutes from Zurich main train station (Zürich HB), from which you can easily reach Zurich International Airport ZRH. My accommodation is ideal for tourists who want to visit our beautiful city of Zurich as you can reach many attractions and the old town on foot very quickly. Even party people who only come to Zurich for the weekend or for a concert are right with me. The Hallenstadion, the Volkshaus and Stadion Letzigrund, where many events and concerts take place, are very easy to reach from here. The accommodation is also located in one of the party hotspots in Switzerland. But business guests too are also very welcome and appreciate the fast internet and the central location of the accommodation. Also, the apartment is ideal as a starting point for day trips in all of Switzerland as I said the mainstation is almost on the doorstep. Often guests choose my accommodation as a starting and ending point for bicycle tours through Switzerland.
My house was built in the year 1881. It's a charmy and roomy 4 room apartment with creaking herringbone parquet, wood panelings, stove and a freestanding bathtub. Modern amenities like super fast WiFi and infrared heating panels are available too. The apartment is still in original condition. With all its advantages and disadvantages. The floor, the wooden paneling, the doors and some of the sanitary facilities are old and have already set some patina and you can see here and there traces of use. That does not mean that the apartment is dirty and rundown. The apartment is cleaned regularly and the guest rooms before each check-in.
I am not a hotel or business apartment and can not offer you the same standard for the very fair and attractive price you pay me. If you come to me you are my guest in my private apartment. It is a beautiful old and spacious 4 room apartment. The apartment is simple and classically furnished and I offer no luxury. There are no televisions or air conditioning in the guest rooms. What I offer are comfortable beds which are made for each guest with freshly laundered bedding, cleanliness, security and a superfast fiber optic internet connection. You also have the possibility to cook something in the fully equipped kitchen. Switzerland is an expensive country and you can save a little money if you cook yourself. By the way, the water from the taps and public wells is drinkable all over Switzerland and of excellent quality. And of course an experienced, helpful and friendly host awaits you, which has been awarded several times the Superhost status. I was already able to welcome several hundred guests with me in the accommodation and I hope you are next :-)
For the safety of my guests, the apartment has carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, a first aid kit and video surveillance.
Langstrasse is Zurich's most colorful and varied district. You can savor international specialties and enjoy multi-cultural shopping options during the day here, while the street converts into Zurich's nightlife district at night. One bar after another, popular clubs and if you get hungry from partying a lot, there's plenty of food available from the many take-aways and 24-hour shops. Langstrasse never sleeps and has progressed from a former red-light district into one of the most popular districts in the city. This is also thanks to the many young designers and restaurant owners, who have upgraded the district over the past years. (Source: Website Zurich tourism)
The apartment is located in one of the city's most popular locations: the so called Langstrassenquartier. The Langstrasse (which means long street) is one of the most colorful addresses here in Zurich. The Swiss Army used to be stationed here in large barracks which still exists today and are only minutes from the accommodation. It was also a living area for workers and poor people. Today, it is the trendiest neighborhood in the city with many restaurants, bars, clubs, galleries, shops, parks and squares. The neighborhood was once infamous for its brothels, prostitutes and drug addicts. Some remnants of it are still visible today and you will see one or the other prostitute on the street, although street prostitution is actually forbidden here now. The neighborhood is unfortunately currently in a gentrification phase and the rents of the apartments are rising. A new district has just been built: The "Europaallee" which stretches from the central station to almost my accommodation. Among other things, there are the offices from a well-known internet search engine company :-) The Langstrassen area is a very lively and interesting neighborhood where always something going on. Around the clock you see people on the street. Like Switzerland, the Langstrassen area is clean and safe. Only before pickpockets, you should generally take care in Zurich. Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland with about 410,000 inhabitants, of which about one third are foreigners. So Zurich is a very international and cosmopolitan city. My accommodation is located within walking distance of the main train station and is right in the city center. Which of course has advantages and disadvantages. When you book my accommodation you should be aware that you will live in a large European metropolis where life pulsates. That's why you should be able to tolerate a certain background noise of traffic and people here during the day and at night. Langstrassen area is one of the most popular nightlife areas of Zurich and maybe even Switzerland. On Friday and Saturday night, on nights before public holidays and sometimes also during the week on special occasions such as football games, it is very noisy here in front of the accommodation. Hundreds of people line the streets and celebrate. There is also a small bar on the floor below the apartment which plays music until around 4am on Friday and Saturday nights. If you are sensitive to noise then you should not book the apartment on Fridays and Saturdays. The central location of the apartment is ideal for tourists who want to visit the city. Everything is easy to reach on foot, by public transport or by bicycle. Of course, the location is ideal for night owls - the party starts right outside the front door. Also for business travelers, the apartment is ideally located, as the Zurich International Airport and the main train station can be reached very quickly. If you want to live in one of the most interesting quarters of the city, are tolerant and curious and can endure even with a bit of street noise - then my accommodation is just right.
