So what makes Iguana Roost special (or any of our other 3 cottages, Hummingbird Rest, Sanpopo and Compass Cottage) ?
Is it the setting – over a acre of sub tropical gardens, once described a council official as a 'jungle in town', the vast number of butterflies, birds and iguana's that visit the garden or maybe because we have our own Cat Sanctuary waiting for your visit?
The location – Out of town, but close enough to walk (or a US$2.50 cab ride), under a mile to Cahal Pech Mayan Ruins, less than 8 miles to Xunantunich Mayan Ruins, The ATM caves and Mountain Pine Ridge are less than 30 miles away, and close enough to Guatemala for a day trip to Tikal.
The accommodation – private and fully equipped, so should you want to cook yourself and dine 'al fresco' on your decking / balcony everything you need is right there. The complimentary cookies, nuts, coffee and tea waiting when you check in, or the fact they we supply more and better quality towels than most Airbnb's , hotels and resorts, or just the simple things like unlimited purified drinking water (even though our tap water in safe to drink), complimentary ear plugs – nature can sometimes be noisy, as you will discover with the parrot's visit at 5am
Your hosts – always there to meet and greet you when you arrive, carry your luggage and show you around your accommodation (no finding a key hidden somewhere, or waiting for the hosts to turn up), a family member is always on site, so should you have any questions (places to visit, tour bookings etc.) we are available and there to help, the property is never left unattended so if security is your thing, your covered
Peace Of Mind – we are registered with the Belize Tourist Board, although it is a legal requirement more than 50% of Belize's Airbnb's are not registered, being registered means, amongst many other things we have been inspected by various parties and the accommodation itself meets a certain standard, which includes fire safety checks, building inspections (electrical, gas, plumbing etc.) That the premises has public liability insurance, and of course being registered means we are paying the appropriate taxes (which benefits the people of Belize - we do not hide from our responsibilities)
Or simply the fact that there are over 600 very positive reviews on Airbnb alone (many more on other platforms)
There is a reason why people say it's the best Airbnb they have stayed in – Read The Reviews
