Park undercover in a lock up garage and walk to the main amenities. It is an 800m stroll along the waterfront to the wharf and Paihia village with a large selection of restaurants and shops. Still to be seen rising from the lagoon near our house is the causeway where the early settlers unloaded their ships, hence the name Causeway Road - which may well be one of the oldest roads in New Zealand.
