The surrounding is green and suitable to cycle and walk around. A nice shopping street including a supermarket is nearby.

Located in the neighbourhood; De Avonden, a (wine) bar for a good glass of wine in combination with cheese & sausage . De Gouden Snor, the nicest cafe in Rotterdam to eat. Abrazo, dining overlooking the Bergse Plas and along the Rotte you will find the most charming French restaurant Rijntje. Ver Van Hier, a children's and youth bookshop & coffee café. A menu for breakfast, lunch and delicious sweet things. There are also several delicacy stores in the old village center and there is a wide variety of restaurants.
