Heron's Nest is a secluded waterfront home with a private dock on the quiet side of Long Pond, facing land on the opposite shore that is owned and protected by the National Park. The main room has a cathedral ceiling with skylights and an expanse of floor to ceiling windows affording spectacular views of the water. This single-level house sleeps 6, with 3 bedrooms, and 3 full bathrooms. The house has been modified for aging-in-place. Minutes to Acadia entrances, hiking, biking, dining, shopping.

The single open studio features a queen bed plus two futons, making it a comfortable fit for couples, friends traveling together, or families with young kids. The deck is perfect for grilling and dining, while the firepit and hot tub offer a quiet spot to unwind after a day on the trails or water.

The cottage features high ceilings and an open floor plan, with a small deck looking into the woods The walls are decorated with original art work by the owner. Our location is central to the island, situated just outside the village of Somesville; 15 minutes to Bar Harbor, 10 minutes to Southwest Harbor by car. Hiking and swimming opportunities are just 5 minutes away by car. The Arthaus is not suitable for pets, despite our love for them.
