Hilo Hale is the house we dreamed of staying at when we travel, and we are very excited to be able to share it with you and your family.

Our slice of paradise sits on 1 acre of manicured tropical orchard with over 40 varieties of fruit trees, a giant stand of bamboo, hundreds of orchids and herbs. Newly constructed unattached studio cottage with canopy queen size bed and super comfortable full size futon. Indoor bath with shower and outdoor bamboo shower. Brand new kitchen and an adorable lanai for enjoying the panoramic view of sunset or morning coffee. Our teak swing above the cottage offers a horizon view of the ocean.

Wake up to sunlight filtered through trees. Your partner hands you a hot coffee which you sip while strolling through the lychee orchard. The car is packed. It’s time to explore the nearby waterfalls and indulge in the fresh unfamiliar tastes of the farmers market. You come for a fresh shower. Unwinding with your afternoon tea and book, songs of the forest birds fade. Day turns to night. It’s time for wine with warmth from the fire pit under the ever bright stars. A beautiful get-away surrounded by nature on a cacao farm! One-bedroom + loft cabin, full kitchen, bathroom, w/d, sunny lanai, on our Big Island off-grid permaculture farm. One king-size bed in bedroom, two twin beds in loft, which has low ceiling & is accessed by steep narrow stairs. Free entrance to botanic garden. Organic eggs, homemade chocolate at farmstand!

My house is a couple of short miles from Hilo town and offers, quite simply, the best ocean front view possible. You will look down upon crashing waves and out across the Bay to Hilo and to the surfers gliding down the silver waves. The view is dramatic but relaxing. During whale season, this is the best possible location for viewing. Sometimes they come so close you can look into their eyes. The house is fully equipped. This will be your Pacific vacation to remember.
