The deserted Dookinella stone village still stands in the field nextdoor. Keel village is a 5-minute drive with restaurants, local butcher selling Achill lamb and fisherman selling from boat. Approximately 300 meters from the pier and swimming area on the beautiful northern shores of Lake Corrib, Irelands premier trout and salmon fishing lake. Local Pub & Shop are walking distance. We are located approximately 10K from Cong and historic Ashford Castle. 10 K to the west are the beautiful Maamturk mountains offering exceptional hill walking opportunities. Leenane and Killary Fjord is a short drive west.

Connemara, with its rugged beauty, mountains, rivers, lakes and unspoilt beaches all from the doorstep, as is The Burren. This is a small yet bright and airy studio chalet with a large veranda that serves as an extension of the living area allowing for alfresco dining, relaxing down-time overlooking a natural, calming vista or an opportunity for some early morning yoga stretches for those so incline.The setting is tranquil and secluded, approx 7km from Westport town and 2 km from a local shop. Food is supplied for a light continental style breakfast.
