The Hobbit House on the Isle of Skye

The Hobbit house with its round door is close to the sea, the beach and the mountains. It has views of Broadford Bay and the islands of Raasay, Scalpay and Pabay. For return visitors, unfortunately a new house on the next croft now partially obscures the view of Beinn na Cailleach although you can still see the cairn where the Norse princess is buried. Conveniently located approximately a mile from the main road linking the Isles of Eriskay, South Uist, Benbecula and North Uist, the huts are an idyllic base from which to explore the islands, to pause whist travelling along the Hebridean Way, or to take a relaxing short break.

The Red Fox Retreat is the ultimate luxury glamping getaway location. A twist on the more conventional ‘pod’, the cabin features a curved wood interior entered from an arched doorway in front of which is situated a perfectly appointed king sized bed with amazing views of the Trottenish Ridge and the croft (farmland) that surrounds the property. It is warm and cosy to protect against the elements and yet light and airy. The cabin is accessed via a spectacular large undercover deck area.
