Forge Cottage

We have recently updated this cottage ---- with a new kitchen with a proper hob and oven, and also replaced all the windows and even the front door ! The Forge cottage is set on our working sheep farm, on the Durham Northumberland border. Ideal for couples, or people traveling on their own, the cottage is a great location for local attractions such as Beamish Museum, Durham, Newcastle, Kilhope lead mining museum etc., but it's also great for those looking for peace and quiet and country walks !!

Rowan Cottage, Lanchester

Our quaint stone cottage is nestled in the historic village of Lanchester overlooking the Lanchester Railway Path . From the property, you can walk to the local shops, dog friendly bars, and restaurants and discover a network of pretty walking and cycling routes for all the family. The village is an ideal place to stay in County Durham with Durham City only a 15 minute drive and Newcastle a 30 minute drive where you will discover stunning architecture, shopping centres and restaurants galore.

The cottage is a 2 bedroom mid terrace which sleeps 4 people. It comprises of entrance hall front living room with entertainment wall hosting the 58” smart TV. The dining room has a log burner. Dreamers hut is a two double bedroom Shepards hut in its own private woodlands. The rooms are cosy with a cottage feel with a wood burning fire inside the living room. Each bedroom is finished to a high standard with woodland views, a luxury double mattress & quality bed linen. Towels and bath robes are provided during your stay. Dreamers hut is in its own private woodlands. It has a 5 person wood burning sauna, outdoor BBQ, firepit, seating area & 5 person hot tub.

The Oaks is attached to our home. It has its own private entrance from the outside and internal doors are locked. It is an ensuite room set out like a hotel room. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS OUR FAMILY HOME AND IS NOT SUITED FOR A ROMANTIC/ PASSIONATE NIGHT AWAY BUT FOR GUESTS WANTING A PEACEFUL GETAWAY.. Wooden stairs lead up to this first floor bedroom that has its own decked area with outside furniture to enjoy the fantastic views.
