The cottage is family-owned and is located in beautiful and peaceful surroundings next to Medalfellsvatn Lake with spectacular views over the lake. The cottage is located near Reykjavi­k, about 30-40 minute drive from Reykjavik. It is ideally situated amongst Iceland's most popular attractions. Many of the attractions are within 1 one-hour drive from the cottage, e.g. the Þingvellir National Park, which is on the way to Gullfoss and Geysir. Hot tub available upon request for €15 per day.

The views are spectacular, of the lake and its surrounding mountain scape; it is a place of pure tranquility. It has 3 bedrooms and an open plan kitchen and sitting room. It has a large double bedroom, and small double bedroom and a room with a bunk bed. It is well known and often listed as one of the most scenic and lovely summer cottages in Iceland.

This secluded cabin is just 35 min from Reykjavík and offers complete privacy along with a hot tub overlooking the lake. The bathroom is fully equipped, while the modest yet functional kitchenette includes all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Enjoy a selection of movies on the TV with a DVD player—please note there’s no WiFi, making this the perfect spot to unplug and enjoy a peaceful, cozy getaway. We use geothermal water.
