Our home is located on 3 acres, with 3 bedrooms (primary on the main level), 2.5 baths, and a large media room with a sofa sleeper. Relax on our wrap-around porch, and separate deck above the Poca river. Enjoy the early morning deer that grace our property, adding to the serenity. This 1860s hand-hewn log cabin was relocated from its original location 15 mi away, painstakingly restored & fitted with all new modern conveniences while retaining its character. It was featured on the “Barnwood Builders” television show & has some of the widest log faces of Appalachian log cabins. It has a spacious master BR & a queen bed on the open loft overlooking the living area.

Beautiful,Private, Secluded and Secure Mountain Cabin only a few miles off 119 and the town of Danville WV. Come enjoy a quite peaceful setting where the deer run free and the calls of nature are all around you. Those avid hikers we have several acres for you to explore. H&M Ivy Branch about 15 miles away. About 6 miles outlaw trials off Mud River/ Hobet Outlaw trails. We do have trailer parking at the top of the driveway. Kayaking stream access or rentals within close driving distance.

This cabin is rustic and small but super cozy! It's comfortable with a queen size bed, a wood burning stove, air conditioning, fridge freezer, coffee, creamer & sugar provided, a smart tv & more. The creek runs in front of it and is literally up against a mountain, surround by mountains. This cabin is located right beside the shower house. There are beautiful hiking trails, a coal mine is a short hike away and a secret wilderness chapel. Enjoy some simple time up & away from town life.

Benedict Haid Farm is a family-owned business open, mostly for weddings, for the past 35+ years. It features a large, historic 1860s hand-hewn log home on 400-acres, adjoining 10,000 acres of undeveloped corporate property. This is a nice place to get away for a while, or host a small retreat. The nearest commercial building is six miles away. :-) UPDATE August 2022: New cell phone booster system installed! It provides good, usable service for AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile Users.
