Across the road from the beach (remember we're in Alaska), the home revolves around the ground floor great room and open kitchen. Three bedrooms (2 - 2x doubles and one king) and full bathrooms round out the ground floor, while the 4th (king) bedroom and full bath are on the floor above. Use the spotting scope to look for bears on the Chilkoot shore line. Recharge for your next Alaskan adventure! A nice base for hiking, heli-sking, trekking, fishing, & any outdoor activities. Located a 6 minute walk to downtown, 8 to the harbor, & 4 miles to the ferry. Brew & enjoy coffee or tea in your room with a beautiful view of the Lynn Canal.

The Chilkoot Cottage: Bear Viewing & Fishing

This quiet and cozy 2-bedroom cottage is located 10 miles from Haines near the famous Chilkoot River, where bears and eagles congregate. Enjoy sweeping views of Lutak Inlet and the beach where bears and eagles may be seen. Chilkoot River and Lake are just down the road and offer fishing for salmon and world-famous bear viewing. The house is fully furnished and feels like a real Alaskan home. Chilkoot Cottage is truly the best location in Haines to enjoy a real Alaskan experience.
