A typical day will start on a beach, taking the weather and surf conditions into account. Some beaches in Cape Town are off the tourist radar. The ozone rich sea air is perfect to start with pranayama practice (breathing techniques) and yoga asanas. With a supple body and a calm mind we will then move to the shore where I will lead you into the cold Atlantic Ocean and guide you in a way that you will welcome the cold water effect on your body. Breath and concentration will open and strengthen your mind and body in a way where the external and internal water elements will fuse into a state of acceptance. A short swim to the kelp forests , those extraordinary sea plants who hold you and support you while you dive in between them and discover sea life, light, sea colour, texture and yes, kelp leaves for a full body rub that will nourish your skin. You will be able to stay in the cold water for between 10 and 30 minutes and then walk out invigorated and marveled.
I will then teach you a breathing technique to warm up your internal organs.
You will feel your body tingling and the bliss droplets infusing you with well being.
How can you know a nation if you don't swim in its waters?

This passion together with my passion for the sea and particularly the kelp forests of our Atlantic ocean come together in an experience of discovery and bliss. Yoga, breathe and swim in forests.

Yoga on boulders or sand gets you to connect with your body differently and see a different and wider angle. A close connection with the kelp forests allows you to get into the detail of this ancient sea and its abundance. No day will be the same, no breath will be the same, the external nature guides our internal nature in this experience.

Great experience - I've always loved the ocean and have been wanting to get into the water but was a bit nervous about doing so with it being winter and all. Carla was a great guide for the yoga and easing into the water. Highly recommend if you love yoga or the ocean!
