We will cook home-style ramen broth and ramen toppings like grilled pork, seasoned egg and the other toppings, and Gyoza from scratch. All recipes were created by me to recreate easily at home. In general, it takes a long time, to make ramen broth but you will learn how to cook ramen broth made from chicken within 30 mins without instant soup stock. Firstly, I will explain all ingredients to make the dishes. Then, I will demonstrate how to make all the dishes and we will cook together. Finally, we will eat them and enjoy chatting after finish cooking.

Hi! I am Saeko. I have worked as a professional food stylist & a recipe creator for 3 years. My passions are exploring and discovering food and cooking way! I was born and raised in Osaka. I used to work as a Japanese chef in Denmark and traveled over 20 countries. Living abroad, I taught my foreign friends how to cook Japanese foods. It was so enjoyable, and we could know each other through those experience. I want to share my cooking knowledge and skill and talk with everyone from all over the world!

My home cooking studio is nearby Mondo-yakujin station. It takes only 20 mins from Osaka (Umeda) and 30 mins from Kobe Sannomiya by Hankyu train line, and is located in Nishinomiya-city. Nishinomiya has a lot of sake breweries, and is one of the most popular places to live for Japanese people in the Kansai area. Though it is not well-known to tourists, I guarantee that you can feel the ambiance of an authentic local Japanese.

Saeko was an amazing host. She's very friendly and welcoming. She's also a great teacher and was very encouraging to help us cook ramen and gyoza. She speaks english well and was great at sharing stories and starting conversations. She's very easy to talk to and allowed us to feel welcomed and engulfed with the culture. It was a once in a life time experience. It's definitely something you must try and fit into your trip. It was personal and lots of fun. Not only do you get to cook with an experienced and local cook; you get to meet other travelers and discuss places you must see and get more insight on the trip. Learning how to cook with Saeko was amazing! Would highly recommend it if you get the chance. She explained the process step by step and gave us useful cooking tips as well as subsitute ingredients that we could use for harder ingredients to find outside of Japan. We also had heaps of fun cooking together, it felt very personal. We cannot wait to make this at home from scratch!
