Create your own fused glass Christmas ornaments in the comfort of your own home! Whether making these as gifts or for your own tree you will have a unique memorable ornament. $65.00 covers materials for 4 ornaments and the rental of tools needed to create the ornaments. You will pick up your ornament kit at my no-contact porch pick up spot at a specific time after we have messaged about the theme you want to choose. We will then have a one hour Zoom session, where I will talk about safety with glass, and about the materials and tools in the kit. I will demonstrate the process of using the different types of glass and talk a little bit about how firing the work is done. Students will start working on their ornaments and I will stay on the call until our 1.5 hour time is up. We will agree on a time for one more 1/2 hour Zoom call to answer further questions and make sure all artwork is ready for transport by you back to the studio drop off spot. Tools and left over materials will be returned at the same time. Ornaments will be fired and ready for pick up within a week. Optionally, students can pay to have their project shipped.
It is ok to have more than one person make the 4 ornaments, just keep in mind you will need to share the tool kit.

I've been working with glass for over 20 years, and teaching art to adults and children for 30 years. I grew up in a house with a glass artist and worked at Bullseye glass in the research and education department for a few years. I show my bamboo and glass artwork nationally and travel extensively to teach workshops in bamboo and glass. At the end of every workshop I teach the feedback I hear from students is that they has a great time, learned a lot, and that they thought I was a really great teacher. I teach from a place of understanding what it was like to be a beginner.

Because of Covid I feel a responsibility to only offer this class through Zoom, with supplies you pick up. When there is no longer a risk of contracting the virus I will resume classes in person. You will pick up supplies contactless near 170th and Farmington road, on the border of Beaverton and Aloha.
