The “Naniwa Shichi-kō Meguri” is a tour in Osaka which consists of visiting 7 Japanese temples and shrines. By doing so, you will be “inviting seven types of luck” and having “seven benefits be bestowed upon you”. This tour is also a stamp rally in which you collect red ink stamps in a traditional stamp book (given at the start of the tour). I'm explaining the history of each place we visit during the tour, but I would also love to discuss our different cultures.
Every temple and shrine has its own unique stamp and we will mark the stamp book. You will be able to take the book home. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to visit all 7 spots during this tour, but please feel free to visit the remaining ones during your stay in Osaka. If you visit all of them, it is said that you receive the seven types of luck.

We are commuting by train, so we get a one-day-pass ticket. Please make sure to buy the ticket by yourself at the station.
We have also lunch during the tour at a Japanese restaurant that’s owned by one of my friends.

The seven benefits of each of the temples and shrines are as follows:
Osaka Temmangū Shrine: Academic achievement
Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine: Purification
Shijō Nawate Shrine: Fulfillment of desires
Dainenbutsu-Ji Temple: Improvement of various arts
Taiyū-Ji Temple: Good health
Imamiya Ebisu Shrine: Success of business
Shitennō-Ji Temple: well-being of family
その他の留意事項
You need to pay by cash to get stamps from the temple and shrine. 300 yen for each stamp.
And the transportation fee is 600 yen ~ 800 yen for a one-day metro pass.

Please let me know in advance if you have any allergies.

I’m a native Japanese from Osaka who enjoys visiting various shrines and temples. My high school was a Shinto school, and I had classes and tests about Shintoism. I went to Ise-Jingu Shrine as an extracurricular activity in order to experience Shinto training, such as “Misogi,” or purification ceremony. I also read the Kojiki, the Shinto bible, which helped me become more familiar with the Shinto way of thinking, understand the roots of Japan on a deeper level, and become even more aware of the importance of visiting shrines as a Japanese person.
I continued studying and got the knowledge of which I’m more than willing to share with others. I regularly visit a local shrine close to where I’m living. I currently manage my own hostel in Osaka, and it would be a great joy if I can share these experiences with guests from all over the world.

I had a great time with Tomohiro and Hono-ka! :) The food was amazing and I learnt a lot through Hiro and Hono-ka explaining Japanese culture and educating me about heritage shrine/temple sites. We ended up doing ~15000 steps according to my Fitbit, so we explored a lot of different areas throughout the day. Thanks again for the great experience and memory I won't forget. :)
