Ką veiksite

You dream of writing a book. But where to begin? We designed the Writing Workshop to jumpstart your goal to author a book.
Whether you're starting from scratch with an idea on a paper napkin, or you have a finished manuscript and need an experienced eye for edits, we'll make the most of our private day together.
As publishers and editors, we've helped thousands to write, edit, and publish both fiction and non-fiction. We know a little guidance can help authors go a long way!
Before you arrive for our experience, you'll wan to email us your current manuscript (Word doc) and/or outline, notes, blogs, videos, or any other materials you'd like us to review ahead of time. Please also "friend" us on Facebook and/or "connect" with us on LinkedIn, as we will review your personal and/or professional page(s) in advance.
During our time, we'll spend the first half workshopping your materials, your goal, your message, and your readership.
After a food break (provided), we'll spend the second half outlining the book-to-be. If you have a manuscript draft, we'll dig into edits. (Bring your laptop and/or paper copies!)
At the end of our Writing Workshop, you'll leave with an outline and/or an edited manuscript, and proof on the page that you have a book worth publishing. You'll also have had a lot of fun working with the most experienced writers and editors in the industry!

I'm Eland, co-host of the Writing Workshop in Charleston. My partner Keith Farrell and I help authors-to-be, entrepreneurs, experts, writers, and dreamers to author and publish their book. If you have an idea for a book, we help you make it a reality. We love what we do!
Keith and I have helped thousands to write, edit, and publish books. We cut our teeth as fiction writers, then worked in publishing as in-house editors and ghostwriters for business book publishers. After a few years providing our industry services to an exclusive set of authors, we realized there was a growing need to help even more people write books. So we founded Conversation Publishing and started the Writing Workshop, a private one-on-one event that allows us to use our deep industry experience to help you brainstorm, write, edit, and publish your book-to-be.

So happy I decided to book this work shop with Eland and Keith. They are both very knowledgeable and skilled when I comes to starting your writing and explaining the steps to become published. They have a lot of confidence in me and my ideas which it’s a major stepping stone for getting my goals started. Thanks Eland & Keith!

I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone who might have some writing ideas in their head, but are clueless on how to proceed with them or how to navigate the pen - to - published pathway. Eland really knows the business, and is very approachable, personable and interactive! It's a fun afternoon well spent! I left feeling encouraged and eager to continue on my writing journey!

Really grateful for the time I was able to spend with Eland and Keith at this workshop. As I am someone with no formal knowledge of how to write a book or the timelines and costs associated with the publishing process, they were able to succinctly guide me through what to expect and added some much needed structure to my creative process. They also shared very openly about their own stories and processes of what works and what doesn’t when it comes to creating valuable content. Their different experiences and perspectives created a great think tank for bouncing all kinds of ideas around. The confidence I have now coming out of this workshop has been truly priceless for me. Definitely recommend grabbing a slot with them if you’re someone who’s new to the publishing game and unsure of where to start like I was. Cheers! Xx Tara

First, yes, this experience isn't cheap. But when I compared it to the rates of the many editors I've worked with, and other workshops I've attended, this workshop is a FRACTION of the typical cost. Second, this writing workshop is worth every penny. These editors/publishers are the real deal. I've written drafts of two different novels, and published plenty of non-fiction articles in magazines and online. In doing all that writing and editing, I've never experienced the deep level of expertise that these editors provided me in just a few hours. They helped me add depth to my characters, rework the opening thirty pages to best appeal to publishers, and overhaul some of my arc's organizational quirks. I've been struggling with each of those for months, and would've paid triple just for anybody to help me find a workaround. I was deeply thankful that they read the 100 pages I submitted them ahead of time, and especially for the enthusiasm the shared with me during our time. When these editors say they've worked on thousands of books, they aren't exaggerating. They've edited every type of fiction and non-fiction. And they were a fun team to work with, too. I felt like they gave me a wise answer to my every question, and in turn they asked tons of helpful questions. At the end of the workshop, I casually mentioned to Eland and his team an idea for a non-fiction, "business book" that had been simmering in my mind. After asking me a few questions, he typed up a one-page Table of Contents, showing how to organize the book, while at the same time he explained why. Literally in 10 minutes he hatched a full blown book idea that I'd been incubating silently for years. I'm glad I piped up! My fiancee had an equally good time. She knows my voice and style better than anybody. After the workshop, she marveled at how they were able pick up on exactly the stuff I like, and not waste time on anything that I don't. It meant a lot to us! Anybody who's ever thought "I want to write a book" should attend this workshop.
