St Johns old Schoolhouse

Welcome to St John's Old school now a beautifully restored cottage. The school was originally built in 1846 . The building sat idle for over 60 years until its recent renovations which has brought this fantastic building back to life. St Johns old school is situated close to the village of Lecarrow, Co. Roscommon and close to the towns of Roscommon & Athlone on the shores of Lough Ree and a perfect location for exploring the heartlands of Ireland with many amenities on its doorstep. .

A truly special spot, this luxurious lodge is close to Ballyvaughan but tucked in the trees with a view of the turlough, red squirrels, and sparrow hawks. Get to meet our world renowned cutest and friendliest sheep in the world the Valais Blacknose, our KuneKune pigs, donkeys, horses, cats and dogs, while staying in your own self contained farm annexe. The Castle rests on about half an acre of land with Ballindooley Lake lying to the south west. It is surrounded by low walls and hedges: with a gated entrance controlled by an electronic security system. Features include 3 murders holes and a dungeon The castle was built by the DeBurgo family (approximately 1480). It had the distinction of being shelled by the British Gunboat ” Helga” during the1916 Rising to disband rebels
