The Hoot Owl

This cabin was built in the late 1800's. It has 2 bedrooms, one with a king size bed, one with a full size bed. There are two couches in the living room, one is a pull-out bed. All towels and linens are included. The bath has an efficiency-size bathtub-and the laundry room has full-size washer and dryer. Cell phone reception is spotty and internet reception is almost non-existent, hence there is no internet service/wifi. The TV has a digital antennae which offers a small amount of channels.

The original structure was built in 1840 in Wilkesville, Ohio and relocated to its current location in 1936. Each log was carefully numbered, disassembled and restored to its original specifications in Clintonville. This historic structure was originally a 2-story log home built in 1813. The home was used as an Inn or tavern along the Old Federal Road leading from Columbus to Springfield. In 2020, the decision was made to disassemble the second floor of the original cabin and then reassemble it on a new foundation with walk-out basement. This rebuilt cabin overlooks Deer Creek and a 50 plus acre wetlands area. The property is 1 mile from I-70 and is only a 30-minute drive to Columbus, OH.
