Welcome to Timberlandia! Just south of the Metro, at the border of Madison & Warren counties in the Middle River Valley, the cabin is on 2 acres of shaded lawns with plenty of exploring options on 18 acres of wooded paths & walking trails. Timberlandia is a secluded tranquil getaway, but only 15 minutes from the Airport, 20 minutes from West Des Moines Jordan Creek, and 25 minutes from downtown. Our cabin is great for romantic getaways, family gatherings, festivals, retreats & wedding stays.

The Prayer Cabin

The Prayer Cabin is located at Lake Red Rock outside of Pella, IA. The cabin Is an Earthen/Berm home located on a 1 acre lot in a quiet & clean neighborhood. The lot boasts a wooded valley with many birds and squirrels to watch. The Prayer Cabin was recently remodeled with a brand new kitchen and bathroom. Our first guests asked us if Chip and Joanna were the creators of the design. 💚 Navy Blue cabinets, Tons of white shiplap and open shelving. Peaceful. A place of respite and relaxation.

East Shore Drive Lakefront Cabin

1006 sq ft updated cabin w/full kitchen, dining area & plenty of living space. Enjoy the incredible lake views from the 2 decks right on the water. Swim in the shallow water off the dock or fish off your own private dock. Enjoy this quiet retreat for your family that includes amenities like in your own home… cooking items, kitchen & bath towels, bedding & cleaning supplies. NOTE: Upstairs shower, bedroom flooring & deck rails will be updated when back ordered supplies are acquired!

Fun adventures only a small drive away with ISU campus 20 minutes east and Seven Oaks just 5 minutes west. This secluded space is perfect on a snowy day to cuddle up, turn on the fireplace and get lost in a good book. You are sure to catch some wildlife during your stay.

This two-bedroom, 1.5-bath retreat invites you to slow down and enjoy simple pleasures, with a spacious deck for fresh air, a hot tub to unwind, and a fully equipped kitchen for home-cooked meals. Perfect for couples, small groups or families, it’s a tranquil space to reconnect with nature and embrace a sense of hygge.

The Rookery Cottage - Access scenic hiking trails

This rustic cottage is a quiet retreat in the heart of the Middle Raccoon River Valley. Situated on a private acreage within Whiterock Conservancy, guests can easily access 40mi+ of scenic hiking and mountain biking trails, float the nearby river, or enjoy dark sky viewing. A "rookery" is a nesting site for herons, a bird that prefers quiet, undisturbed habitat near water. And so the Rookery Cottage seeks to provide a natural escape from the daily grind.

Cabin Cove By the River

Take a step back in time when you enter our little log cabin by the river. Built in 1949, this cabin is a replica of the log cabins built by the gold seekers of Alaska. Though modern in most aspects we have retained the native charm of unfinished wood, rough, hand-hewn logs and naked beams. The inspiration for the cabin was found by my great grandfather who spent time in Alaska working on the Alcan highway.
