Log Cabin in Auchtertool.

The Log Cabin is situated in 3 acres of garden, shared only with our own house. Guests are welcome to make use of the garden. The Cabin sleeps five people and we have a travel cot if required. There is one large bedroom with two kingsize and one single beds. The Cabin does not have TV or wifi, however it does have an excellent 4G signal. We welcome well behaved pets, up to a maximum of two small dogs or one large dog, even a cat. We ask guests who bring pets to vacuum before they leave.

Burntisland is ideally situated for exploring further including Edinburgh by direct train across the famous Forth Bridge and St Andrew’s for golf and history.

The “Wee Bothy” offers a great base to explore the North East Coast, our scenic Angus Glens, and nearby Towns and Cities with places of interest all around. The Seaside/Harbour town of Arbroath is a 5 min drive away, with lots of lovely Cafes, Restaurants, Cinema and Theatre. Golfing, Fishing , Kayaking round the Cliffs and Walking, are plentiful in and around the area with Carnoustie Golf Links a 15 minute drive. Bus and Train Station in town for those who want to venture further.

Coastal and woodland walks abound. Very quiet village with a lovely cafe, community pub and heritage centre. Due to its quiet nature there is abundant wildlife, seals, seabirds and deer. Eastmost Cottage is in a wonderful position on the edge of the historic village of Falkland. It's a short walk from the fine Renaissance Falkland Palace, the heart of the medieval village with its independent shops, cafes restaurants and pub. There is great walking in the Lomond hills, accessible on foot. The wonderful Covenanter has fantastic food all day; the Hayloft and Pillars of Hercules are lovely cafes. Fine dining at the Boar's Head in nearby Auchtermuchty.

The Secret Orchard is a self-contained apartment. Matt (your host) lives above. Built around 1685 it has many historic features. It has been home to three famous artists from 1848 to 1920. It sits within a large walled garden which has an orchard, cute hens, two ponds, a large trampoline and a sun-trap patio. Two minutes from the Fife Coastal Path and beach and a large park to cycle around. Dysart Harbour featured on Outlander and is very historic.

An entire private place (attached to our house) approx 25sqmtrs with your own entrance to a clean, tidy, well lit, self contained personal living space with comfortable sofa, mini kitchen/dining, through to a bedroom with ensuite bathroom, in addition the sunroom offers stunning panoramic views of Edinburgh and the river Forth. Bread, milk, cereal, butter, jam, coffee and tea are all provided along with kettle, toaster, microwave and mini fridge.

Situated equidistant between Perth, Edinburgh and rural east Fife this is a tranquil, self-contained one-bedroom flatlet, sitting within a lovely garden which guests are welcome to enjoy. There are many good and varied restaurants and cafes in Dunfermline, three miles away, however if you want to "eat in", the kitchen is equipped with all you need to make a simple meal. Please note that there is no oven and the electric hob is a single hob.
